Free Upper Back Class Inside!
Some strength + TLC for your upper back
Hi Friends,
As I mentioned in my last email, this newsletter is getting a makeover and going paywalled-for-a-cause. Paid subscribers will receive a monthly Pilates class, as well as some other goodies and of course my usual-yet-sort of-infrequent newsletters (which will still be available for non-paid subscribers).
Of course, these Pilates classes will be:
A) Postpartum friendly (for once you are cleared for exercise, unless otherwise noted).
B) Something you can easily fit into your day (just 20-30 minutes, quality > quantity)
C) “Stackable,” meaning you can layer them for a longer workout, if you so desire.
100% of proceeds I receive through Substack paid subscriptions will always be donated. The organization or cause may change as times evolve, but know that your dollar is never going to me and will be passed along to the activists, organizers and organizations doing the heroic work of building a safe, thriving world for all. Right now we are supporting Freedom For Immigrants. Join us? ;)
This month’s class is all about the UPPER BACK!
Personally, I don’t know anyone who couldn’t use a little bit of love for the upper back. This is a quick, 20 minute class that gives us all the TLC our upper backs need: mobility, strength, opening…we’ll work the spine, rib cage, shoulders, the whole works. If you ever feel stiff, slouched over or “meh” in your back, shoulders or neck, this class is for you. I found this class to be incredibly energizing— if you feel well in your upper body, the rest of the body moves with so much more ease. If we’re going to fight fascism, we’re going to do it with good posture!
This first month’s class will be free to all subscribers, but just to paid beginning next month. But it’s never too soon to upgrade to paid today and support this amazing org! Your donations this month are so appreciated.
Ok, that’s all, please do let me know how you feel after class!
Xo,
Claire
Ps. The above class is a great addition to a short strength session or run (I recommend to do this class first and then your other workout; I hope you notice a positive difference in your other movements after giving your thoracic spine the love it needs!). And thank you so much to everyone who checked in on me after my last email—we are all feeling much better!
